A deep-blue swimmer travels through an exuberant composition of stone, pearl, glass and cloisonné in this one-of-a-kind BushkaBlue statement necklace.

At its heart is a large vintage articulated cloisonné fish, worked in brilliant cobalt and aquatic blue enamels with gold-tone wirework. Its individually joined scale sections create genuine movement through the body, while the sweeping enamel tail and dimensional construction give the vintage fish an extraordinary presence.

The 33-inch necklace was designed asymmetrically around the fish rather than simply suspending it as a conventional pendant. Graduated lapis lazuli beads establish the rich blue foundation, interspersed with small polished black onyx, luminous baby-blue fresh water pearls, and large organic white baroque pearls framing the fish.

Along the opposing side, vintage floral cloisonné beads echo the enamel work of the centerpiece. Warm carnelian provides a deliberate contrast to the blues, including round carnelian beads framing a large translucent carved carnelian medallion. Faceted cobalt glass and 4 mm gold-tone spacers add flashes of light throughout the composition.

The necklace closes with a decorative 925-stamped clasp set with a blue lapis cabochon, giving even the back of the piece a considered finish.

Richly layered, unapologetically colorful and entirely individual, this is wearable art for the collector who prefers jewelry with presence. The asymmetry is intentional with intuitive design; every shift in color, scale and texture was composed to naturally lead the eye around the necklace and back to its extraordinary blue fish.
