Size 8. The band measures just over 1 inch wide. Interior shows the classic blue enamel with natural age from storage. Exterior features deep hand-carved cinnabar with multicolor cloisonne floral medallions on a black backround.
Cinnabar craftsmanship reached great refinement during China’s Han Dynasty. Artisan craftmen are few now. The art of making cinnabar jewelry is now a rarity and what cinnabar is created is many times machine carved rather than it being hand carved. This particular bangle was made at the Beijing Cloisonné Factory. The artisans there were trained by imperial craftsmen, and during that era, all workers were employed by the government and paid equal wages. That allowed them to devote great care and time to creating each unique piece.
A collectible example of late 20th century Beijing cloisonne craftsmanship preserving methods descended from imperial workshops.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with expected light wear from long-term storage.
